County Board Approves Pipeline Project « Back to Search Results

The Merrick County Board of Supervisors has voted unanimously to write a letter of approval for the Keystone Pipeline project that will run through their area. This comes amidst mixed feelings from landowners and community members.

Both Keystone and the Southern Public Power District have checked in with the board frequently to give updates on the pipeline project. Today's presentation was an opportunity for the power company to talk about the benefits of a pipeline, and specifically in Merrick county.

"It's time to speak up," Gary Hedman, CEO of Southern Public Power District, said.

That's just what he did after talk of moving the pipeline project further east, out of Merrick County.
