Street Replacements Progressing « Back to Search Results
The City has contracted with Diamond Engineering to replace 6 blocks of worn out streets. This includes the streets east, west and north of the Grade School along with the street east of the Central City Mall. The $594,000 project involves replacing the streets along with adjacent sidewalks and parking areas and had a contracted completion date of August 1st. After breaking out 14th Avenue, the contractor discovered that the sanitary sewer was broken in numerous places and needed replacement. This has delayed the replacement of 14th Avenue by 3-4 weeks. We are very hopeful that the problems can be overcome and these streets opened by the first day of school.
