Dark Island Trail

The Dark Island Trail is an 8-mile long hike/bike trail opened in 2007 that extends south from Central City to Marquette along a former railroad.   The trail passes through farmland, densely wooded areas, and over a long wooden bridge with spectacular views of the Platte River.  For more information, visit the Dark Island Trail Facebook page.  The north trailhead starts in the heart of Central City at the now under construction Central Park.  This massive funfilled park, will have something for everyone.  It is designed to keep people of all ages enjoying activies all day long!
